Macabre and surreal, Kiko Capile is more interested in what lies beneath the flesh. He penetrates deep into his subjects, exposing their writhing insides. Made only with pen, his highly detailed rendering makes his works all the more spine-tingling. While death and decay pervade his oeuvre, there is palpable grace in his depiction of human bodies.

A graduate of fine arts from the Technological University of the Philippines, Capile has showcased his works across different art spaces in the country. He has also caught the attention of international publications, earning a feature for his works.
