Shannah Orencio (b. 1995) is a graduate from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communications from the College of Fine Arts. Orencio’s body of work comprises the utilization of mostly plants, predominantly dried leaves and flowers, that she picks from different places and happenstance. These collections are then arranged and painted in dynamic compositions emphasizing mostly the details and colors of flora up close. Every painting represents memories and emotions intentionally attached to the objects, her unique personal approach on meditation, visualization, and story-telling. Shannah has participated in a number of exhibitions, both local and international, and held her first solo exhibition at the Pinto Art Museum in November 2017.
