(b. 1971) visual artist Dan Barry graduated from Lawrence University (Wisconsin) in 1994. He primarily studied cultural anthropology and fine art, but his artistic practice began at a young age, creating artworks from collected images and found objects, painting, drawing and woodcarving. After attending graduate school, and after a corporate career lasting for two decades, Barry has pursued his craft full time.
Describing his works as a “reflection and ambiguous journal of what is happening in my life, mind and surroundings at any given time,” Barry’s mixed media artworks explore themes that are simultaneously intensely personal and universal – depicting mortality, loss, connection, family and the passage of time. Dan has participated in over 50 group shows in Spain, Italy, Germany, and Philippines. He currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
