Dan Macapugay (b. 1989) was born and raised in Malolos, Bulacan. Portraits dominate his practice and allow the artist to articulate his interest in studying human experiences and the factors in shaping personalities. He works mainly in oil and watercolor but extends his practice to other mediums such as graphite, charcoal pencil, and acrylic. Macapugay’s talent was recognized by the International Watercolor Society and the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists through exhibitions where his works were featured. In 2021, he was a finalist in an art competition hosted by the International Masters of Watercolour Alliance.
