Self-taught artist Dan Macapugay (b. 1989) was born and raised in Malolos, Bulacan. Portraits dominate his practice, allowing interest in studying human experiences and the factors in shaping personalities. The majority of his works are portraits and figures of women that evoke diverse emotions. It was only in 2015 that he began his full-time career in painting, and continuously honed his craft well using watercolor and oil as his mediums.
