Jamie Bauza is an illustrator and ceramic artist known for her renderings of plants, children, and cats. Her work is inspired by color, humor, childhood, and her relationship with nature. Her works are a way of celebrating and documenting beautiful but often overlooked scenes from everyday life, and reinterpreting them through drawing, painting, and sculpture. Her work has appeared in more than 20 picture books, along with apparel, murals, and exhibits.
She has a degree in Information Design from the Ateneo de Manila University, and attended the Summer Illustration Residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She is a member and former president of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), the first and only Philippine organization for the creation and proliferation of illustrations for children. She lives and works in Quezon City, Philippines.
