Jobert Cruz

Jobert Cruz is a Tondo-born-and-based artist whose works resist easy categorization by form and style. An artist dedicated to finding new expressions on his painted plane, Cruz’s career has seen the development of a distinct visual language marked by movement, articulated by loose, dynamic strokes, and tinctures of nostalgia.

Exhibiting since 2007, Cruz has participated in numerous group shows in and outside the Philippines. His work has been shown in local galleries such as KalawakanSpacetime, MONO8, Kaida Contemporary, White Walls, and Blanc Gallery. Cruz mounted his first solo exhibition, Diviserye, in 2016 at Vinyl on Vinyl, and his second, Deluded Commodity, in 2021 at Space Encounters Gallery.
