Shireen Co (b. 1997) is a visual artist and art writer based in Quezon City. Primarily a painter, her focus is on the domestic, finding an extensive source of pattern and variation in the different permutations of everyday objects. The ubiquity and familiarity of cloth in the home, in the form of clothes, bedsheets, or other household fabrics feature often in her paintings. Through the candid use of personal items in almost abstract compositions, she delves into the relationship of the self to the home, and into history and heritage on a personal scale. She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Painting from the UP College of Fine Arts.
