Jomike Tejido’s special exhibition in this year’s MoCAF is highlighted by a series of resin sculptures that embody the liberating curiosities of one’s sanctuary. These biomorphic homes that nod to his exhibition’s title “Curious Shelters”, are structurally amorphous adorned with soft gradient hues akin to the colors of nature and vibrant topiaries. Jomike believes that “its spectrum of soft gradients inspired by atmospheric tones speaks of how each structure invites not just the body, but also the senses—calming them and providing a safe space for soothing refuge, replenishment and joy.
