Born in 1993, Lawrence Cervantes is one of the young artists who are making their own mark in the contemporary art scene. A graduate of fine arts from the Bulacan State University, Cervantes has been exhibiting his works in different group exhibitions since 2012. In 2018, he was chosen to take part in the Tuklas Residency Program, a year-long mentorship under painters Renato Habulan and Alfredo Esquillo. This opportunity culminated into his first solo show “Winny Wanna Go to Heaven,” held at Eskinita Art Gallery.
For his second and third solo projects, Cervantes mounted his works at Galerie Stephanie. His solemn pieces are a reflection of his own curiosities about the spirit and the divine, and his own take on a spiritual journey.
