In Vincent de Pio and Nunzio Paci’s duo show, the elegance and fragility of nature and the human body reveal subtle yet ever-shifting worlds. These pieces explore an interior kind of unraveling, one that becomes known only by careful and intentional attentiveness. An expressionist way of viewing color, texture, and harmony produces renderings that tug at the heart, whether by the thick, expressive strokes of Vincent de Pio’s kimono paintings, or by the introspective musings embodied by Nunzio Paci’s figures. In both, we find the entwining of flesh and memory, the material and the passing, welded by a bravery to imagine.
